The "pocket orchestra" returns with a program of French music spanning three centuries. Louise Farrenc's beautiful Nonetto (1949) comes from the heart of the romantic era, and is juxtaposed against Francis Poulenc's Dixtuor (1939). Bridging the compositional time span are 6 Histoires by Jacques Ibert, arranged by James Kalyn. Kalyn also supplies Ouverture à dix: an original work in French style that sets the mood for the evening.
