Chamber Music Retreat for Adults

Chamber Music Retreat for Adults

July 10, 2020 - July 12, 2020

Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music

Mount Allison University
Sackville, NB

Hello musicians,

We sincerely hope that each of you safe, well, and able to ride out the difficulties (and opportunities) that this global issue has created.

After much discussion and consideration, Ventus Machina has decided to follow the example of many other summer enrichment programs and camps:  we are making plans that will allow the Chamber Music Retreat 2020 to go ahead this coming July IF government regulations allow us to resume 'normal' activities at that time, AND Mount Allison allows us to use their campus.  We will continue to evaluate the situation over the next couple of months, and will set a cut-off date for the decision to be made - very likely early June.

In the meantime, we would like to give you the chance to, 'pre-register' and reserve a spot at camp.  We will not be accepting any payments or even deposits until it becomes confirmed that we can operate this summer.

Yours in Music,
Ventus Machina

Join us July 10-12 on the beautiful Mount Allison campus for a weekend of inspired chamber music-making! This workshop is designed for adults who have played their instrument for a few years and who would like to improve their playing, ensemble skills, and spend the weekend with like-minded musicians from the Atlantic region.

NEW for 2020! Optional Extended Friday Schedule (optional, 'Early-bird' schedule). Responding to your requests we have created an option for participants to start at 12:30 pm Friday for a series of sessions that delve deeper into the habits and skills of chamber musicians. See schedule below.

Registration Fee, Extended Schedule: $250

Registration Fee, Regular Schedule: $195

Meals and accommodation will be the responsibility of the participants. Housing is available on campus for a reasonable rate, and a list of other housing options is available by request. Lights snacks and beverages will be provided at break times.  Limited supplies and minor repairs will be available on site during the weekend (reeds, cleaning supplies, reed cases, etc).
